Tivemos o prazer de assistir a criação de dois Clubes Rotaract na noite de domingo, 8 de junho, no Campus Tapajós da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará. Um clube, VITA, é composta por alunos de ULBRA e outro clube, UFOPA, constituídos de alunos da UFOPA. Padrinhos visitantes foram Rafael Boulhosa, presidente do Rotary Club de Belém - Sul, que é padrinho dos dois grupos e Jerônimo Corrêa Sodré Júnior - Presidente do Rotaract e Interact do Distrito 4720.  Quem fez  o juramento como Presidente da ROTARACT-VITA foi Otavio de Lima Sousa Neto e como Presidente do Rotaract-UFOPA, Caio Eduardo de Moura Murtinho.

We had the pleasure of attending the founding of two ROTARACT clubes on Sunday evening, June 8th at Campus Tapajós da Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará.  One club, VITA, is composed of students from ULBRA and the other club, UFOPA, made up of students from UFOPA.  Visiting dignateries included Rafael Boulhosa, President of Rotary Club de Belém - Sul, who is Godfather of the two groups.  Another was Jerônimo Corrêa Sodrê Júnior - Chairman of Rotaract e Interact do Distrito 4720.  Taking oath as President of the ROTARACT -VITA was Otavio de Lima Sousa Neto and as President of ROTARACT -UFOPA, Caio Eduardo de Moura Murtinho.

Visita ao Asilo São Vicente de Paulo

Rotarianos visitam o Asilo São Vicente de Paulo no sábado passado à tarde eram da esquerda para a direita: Marcelo Santos, Giovanna Valle (vice-governadora), Hélcio Amaral, Getúlio Serique e Otávio de Sousa Lima Neto (Rotaract Club de Santarém - VITA). Minha esposa, Áurea e eu presente. Sob a presidência do passado, Marcelo Santos, nosso clube foi ativo na remodelação e re-fiação electrica da sala de oficina do Asilo. Estamos agora vendo maneiras de ajudar com a instalação de equipamentos necessários.

Rotary Club members visiting the Asilo São Vicente de Paulo this past Saturday afternoon were from left to right:  Marcelo Santos, Giovanna Valle (vice governadora), Hélcio Amaral, Getúlio Serique and Otávio de Lima Sousa Neto (Rotaract Club de Santarém - VITA).  My wife, Áurea and I present. Under the past presidency of Marcelo Santos, Rotary was active in remodelling and rewiring the multi-purpose room of the Asilo.  We are now looking at ways to help with installation of needed equipment.

Companheiro Hélcio Assume Liderança de Rotary Club de Santarém

Eu gostaria de pedir desculpas por não atualizar o nosso blog Santarém Rotary Club ao longo dos últimos meses. Eu estava fora de Santarém por algum tempo e perdi muitas reuniões por motivos justificados.  Nosso vice-presidente, companheiro Hélcio Amaral tem assumido a Presidência, contribuindo com toda sua experiência do Rotary. Acho que posso dizer com segurança que Hélcio tem sido um pilar no clube há mais de três décadas e seus companheiros estão contribuindo bem firme com mais esta gestão.

I would like to apologize for not updating our blog Santarém Rotary Club over the last few months. I was out of Santarém awhile and missed many meetings for valid reasons. Our vice president, companion Hélcio Amaral has assumed the Presidency, contributing his expertise as a member of Rotary Club of Santarém. I think I can safely say that Hélcio has been a mainstay at the club for over three decades and his companions are contributing more firmly with this management.
